It does show signs of wear (cloudiness), particularly on the end, near the input jack. It plays very well and has a serious low end and low mids with lots of tonal variation. This was the prototype of the classic 5 string. This bass was built with a thinner neck than most. Mike Tobias added a 3 selector switch for various frequency response in low and low-mid ranges (the two screw heads seen in pic are from this mod attachment). This bass was also routed and built with Bart J pickups!!! This particular bass was used.
